WebbThis chapter presents some philosophical and moral perspectives and considers some ethical issues and problems that can arise in the course of decision-making in public health. We illustrate with a few examples of situations where values and beliefs can complicate decision-making. Socrates suggests that reality consists of two dichotomous realms: physical and ideal realms. The physical realm is unchangeable, transient and imperfect.
